Our Story begins in France in 1650, in a little town called Le Puy in the Massif Central.

Jean-Pierre Médaille,a French Jesuit priest gathered together the first six Sisters of Saint Joseph  and they began their work with the poor and the  orphans of the town.

As time went by the Sisters moved to other parts of France and eventually in 1833 came to Annecy where our branch of the tree begins to grow.

From Annecy, the Sisters spread to India, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland Switzerland, Algeria, Senegal and Gambia
